The Sellstrom Confined Space Welding Helmet/Hood is a modified version of the 290 Series welding helmet. Originally designed for shipbuilding applications including submarine work, this helmet has since proven effective for other tight/confined space applications while being protected against IR heat, smoke and spatter. A patented Sel-Snap lens retention system provides easy loading of filter, cover, and protective plates. A proprietary Super Kool silver coating keeps the helmet 30% cooler than standard helmets and sheds spatter without burning, providing maximum operator comfort and safety. This welding helmet comes complete with replaceable top and bottom leather bib protectors (S21100), Sellstrom's patented quick-release ratchet headgear suspension, sweatband (S27001) for added comfort, and a standard 2" x 4.25" spring-loaded positive lock lift-front. The Confined Space Welding Helmet/Hood meets or exceeds ANSI Z87.1 and CAN/CSA Z94.3 standards. Fits 2" x 4.25" filter plate or ADF (sold separately).
