Organic Roasted Buckwheat, also known as kasha, has been toasted before packing, giving it a deeper, more robust, earthy flavour than unroasted buckwheat groats. Despite the name, buckwheat isn't related to wheat and is naturally gluten-free, making kasha a popular grain for gluten-free diets across Eastern European cooking, traditionally served as a savoury side with fried onions and mushrooms. It cooks a little faster than unroasted buckwheat thanks to the toasting process — simmer in water for around 10-15 minutes until tender.
