A washer-and-wing-nut design helps provide a secure, leak-resistant connection. Made with coconut shell activated carbon and certified to NSF/ANSI 372 for lead-free materials, these filters help reduce chlorine (up to 99%) and improve taste and odor, while also helping reduce sediment, rust, sand, large particles, and certain heavy metals for better-tasting water (note: this filter does not reduce TDS). Before first use, flush the filter for 1 minute; minor splashing may occur if the faucet connection is not fully compatible. Recommended replacement is up to 6,000 gallons per pair, depending on local water conditions, for home, travel, outdoor, or emergency use.
