Hair Mineral Analysis
Hair analysis is the process of testing hair strands for mineral deficiencies or excesses and for the presence of toxic
minerals and heavy metals in the body.  Doctors often use blood tests to measure mineral levels in the body.  This is
not always a reliable diagnostic measure.  An alternative is to measure minerals directly in the body tissues or cells.
The hair tissue is dead and the minerals are locked inside, leaving a clear record of the hair metabolism.  Mineral
imbalances show up much sooner in the hair than in the blood.

Mineral imbalances can cause chronic infections, seizures, learning disorders, ADD, anxiety, depression, chronic
fatigue, tooth decay, acne/eczema, headaches, yeast infections, PMS, fibromyalgia, anemia, cravings for starches
and fats, allegies, etc.

A hair mineral test can provide information about our energy level, immune system, carbohydrate tolerance,
emotional balance, and glandular activity.  Mineral testing can also help reduce the guesswork in recommending diets
and nutritional supplements.  It can also be used to monitor metabolic changes a s a result of any form of therapy.

The hair mineral test measures:
  • Macro-minerals - calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium and phosphorus
  • Trace minerals - zinc, copper, iron, manganese, chromium, selenium, silicon and others
  • Toxic metals - lead, mercury, cadmium, arsenic, aluminum, nickel, and others.

Interesting Facts:
  • Excessive aluminum in the tissues is associated with memory loss, dementia and possibly learning disorders in
    children.
  • Many baby foods contain too much sodium.
  • Lead toxicity is linked to Multiple Sclerosis.
  • Hyperactive children often have too much lead in their system.
  • Adequate zinc levels are important for male potency.
  • Mercury toxicity in the mother's system can kill her unborn child.
  • Magnesium supplements may prevent brain damage in alcoholics.
  • Arthritis pain can be caused by lead, cadmium, or mercury poisoning.
  • Chromium, magnesium, manganese and vitamin B6 deficiency are related to diabetes.
  • Vitamin B2, folic acid, vitamin E, zinc and chromium are importatant for birth control pill users.
  • Magnesium deficiency is related to epilepsy, leukemia, heart disease and kidney disorders.
  • Beryllium, lead, cadmium, nickel and arsenic poisoning can cause cancer.
  • Doctors often diagnose heart attacks by the amount of the mineral manganese in the body.
